Meghann Padgett is a dancer, choreographer, and filmmaker based in New York City. She began her dance training in her hometown of Aiken, SC and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in dance from Columbia College in 2009. She has danced professionally with the Vibrations Dance Company, the Power Company, and the South Carolina Contemporary Dance Company, for which she performed Martha Graham’s Maple Leaf Rag under the direction of Miriam Barbosa. In 2013, Meghann became company assistant and dancer for Terrance Henderson’s T.O. Dance, Inc. While in Henderson’s company, she had the opportunity to perform his original works nationally, such as Hole in My Bucket at the Fresno Rogue Festival and Ruins at the Sarasota Contemporary Dance Summer Intensive and at the Harbison Theatre, by which the piece was commissioned. In 2016, Meghann was accepted to NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts MFA Dance Program, through which she has had the opportunity to perform in the central duet for a restaging of Paul Taylor’s Promethean Fire, as well as in original works by faculty members Pam Pietro and James Martin. She currently films and archives Tisch dance concerts, creates her own choreographic and film work, and produces promotional material for NYC based dance companies, such as Dardo Galletto Dance, Valletto, and Gabrielle Johnson and Artists.
