Originally from East Haddam, Connecticut, Lauren Wolter trained in Cecchetti ballet, successfully completing all examinations through the Majors level, in addition to studying tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and modern. Lauren holds a B.A. in Dance and Biology from Mount Holyoke College, where she graduated with top honors and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. At Mount Holyoke, she performed works choreographed by Merce Cunningham, Ohad Naharin, Faye Driscoll, Diane Coburn Bruning, and Kinsun Chan. Lauren has trained with many dance companies including the Mark Morris Dance Group, Parsons Dance, Lar Lubovitch Dance Company, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Batsheva, Keigwin + Company, Idan Cohen, Amy Marshall Dance Company and Kidd Pivot. She completed Broadway Dance Center’s Professional Semester with a duel concentration in contemporary and Musical Theatre (tap focus), attended Cherice and Charissa Barton’s program, Axis Connect, and studied Musical Theatre at The Goodspeed Opera House Dance Intensive, a program that she founded under the direction of Josh Ritter. Lauren also interned at the Goodspeed working in The Scherer Library of Musical Theatre, and as an assistant to the director of Cutman: A Boxing Musical. Since moving to New York City, Lauren has performed works by Shelly Hutchinson, Sidra Bell, Stacey Tookey for DanceBreak, Salim Gauwloos, Juan Rodriguez, Jessica Taylor/DAMAGEDANCE, Cherice Barton, Matthew Powell, Michelle Barber, Justin Boccitto, Jim Cooney, Aaron Tolson, Mark Albrecht, and Denise Caston.
